We are delighted to announce that GettingOnTravel was named “Best Blog” in the annual travel writing contest sponsored by the Eastern Chapter of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), the most prestigious travel writing membership group in the nation.
The award was just announced at the organization’s annual meeting, which is being held virtually this week. All of the entries were judged by our peers, seasoned members of the organization.
None of this would have been possible without the outstanding cadre of Contributors who write wonderful stories that not only inspire but also provide timely advice and information for our readers.
With travel so curtailed during the pandemic, it’s sometimes hard to muster up energy or plan for the future but we are confident that travel will rebound. In the meantime, we will continue to do our best to feed the wanderlust of our audience for learning about different people, places and cultures—close to and far away from home.
More good news: Our talented co-editor Hilary Nangle received Honorable Mention in the Cruise Travel category for her wonderful story, See the Canadian coast aboard a combo cruise-and-cargo ship that appeared in The Boston Globe.
