The non-profit Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) recently announced Colorado ski discounts for older skiers headed to the slopes this winter. Founded in 1965, the organization represents 24 ski and snowboard resorts in the state.
Ski vacations make for wonderful family trips—whether with adult sons and daughters, grandchildren or multigenerational trips (with three generations). The age-related ski deals, discounts and special programs being offered will also be tempting to solo travelers and couples.
What’s the deal?
Like most “senior” discount programs, minimum age requirements vary by resort, starting at age 50; some start at age 70. These offers include seasonal passes, one-day tickets and multi-day tickets. Some include discounts for family and friends. Super seniors (80 and over) can even take advantage of free passes.
In addition, Colorado Ski Country describes other unique opportunities are available for older skiers. For example, here are a few of them:
- At Copper Mountain, skiers over 50 years of age can participate in group clinics, lift priority access, and socialization opportunities as part of the “Over The Hill Gang.”
- Aspen Snowmass has partnered with “Bumps for Boomers,” an innovative ski program that teaches intermediate-level baby boomers and senior skiers how to ski moguls and how to ski powder.
- Winter Park sponsors “Platinum Tracks” for skiers ages 50 and up. The program is aimed at older skiers who want to sharpen their skills, ski new terrain and meet new friends.

Remember:
When it comes to any kind of senior discount (air, accommodations, tours, activities, etc.), it never hurts to ask. If you plan to ski elsewhere in the USA or abroad, find out whether some similar age-related ski discounts may be available.
